BD Design is a full service architectural design firm specializing in custom residential work. We treat every project as a truly collaborative effort with our clients. Our firm was founded in 1995 by Dave Beckwith, who spent the previous 25 years restoring antique houses as a master carpenter. BD Design began on Fishers Island and has expanded to Greenwich, where our main office is now located. We are focused primarily on projects in Fairfield County and Fishers Island, but our work has taken us all over the country, with projects in Florida, Texas, California, and throughout New England.

We have a particular expertise in re-building and restoring antique houses – updating old houses to suit how we live today, while preserving the character and architectural integrity of the original. We use authentic, salvaged materials and artifacts, and we love to bring different materials together in interesting ways. Over the years our body of work has grown to include newly-constructed houses of various styles and periods, from a Spanish Colonial hacienda in Carmel to a glass-filled contemporary on Long Island Sound.
